As one of Mr. Frey's regular clients I was quite disappointed to lose him as a trainer with my move to Washington. My schedule was quite hectic as part of clinical teaching faculty at the University of Arizona Dept. of Neurology, however, Mr. Frey's sessions were highly organized and highly intense to achieve my goals in the most efficient manner given my time constraints. His methodology was varied to constantly challenge me. He also mentally motivated me to reach my physical limits safely while incorporating unique "cross fit" type routines with an emphasis on gymnastic style body strength. I was quite pleased and it will be difficult to find another trainer with his drive and his level of professional knowledge.

I am a 49 year old woman who was diagnosed with arthritis and low bone density. To add to the problem a couple of years ago I injured my arm and my body went into protective mode. I was extremely weak and in a lot of pain. Over two years, I went to three physical therapists that helped me with the immediate situation, but some persistent pain remained. My doctor suggested that I start lifting weights, in addition to the swimming that I was already doing. She explained that it would help with increasing my bone density as well as strengthening the muscles around my joints. I was extremely lucky to find Eric Frey. I have to say the most amazing thing is that after working with Eric, I am now completely pain free. I am stronger now than I have been in my entire life. During our training sessions, Eric was able to adjust exercises for maximum benefit without hurting me or setting me back in my progress. He listened and carefully designed a regimen that gave me confidence in my abilities and maximized the effectiveness of our workout time. He was always encouraging and pushed me when I needed it.
I recently moved and am no longer training with Eric but, I am completely confident and comfortable working with weights on my own because he taught me proper form and technique. Eric is extremely knowledgeable in regards to nutrition and was able to guide me with selecting the best foods for me. While we were training he told me about many classes he had taken or would be taking. Eric understands that it is more than just lifting weights that makes a person healthy and strong. He focused on the whole body and mind, for a complete workout.
When I started training with Eric, I had never done, nor could I do a single pushup. I now regularly do 30 pushups and can even stand on my head. It is extremely gratifying that I can pursue any physical activity that I choose in a completely pain free manner.

I have had five personal trainers in the past few years, and I can honestly say that Eric has been the best of the five. He is always professional, prompt, and disciplined. I have had trainers who drank coffee or talked to coworkers while they were training me. Not Eric--he is very attentive to the individual needs of his clients and stays focused on the job before him. Somehow he knows just how much to push and how much to support each client. Eric is very knowledgeable about physiology and anatomy and knows the purpose of each exercise and how it impacts the body. He also recognizes the need to begin at baseline and to document each training session in order to show improvement. Finally, Eric is a nice guy! He has an easy-going, friendly personality and is very pleasant to work with. Anyone looking for a personal trainer would be hard-pressed to find one better than Eric! I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Hi, My name is Lynn. I started training with Eric Frey November of 2009. I came to him when my former trainer moved to the White Mountains.
I instantly liked Eric's personality, but what I really liked is that he listened to what I wanted to accomplish with my workouts, and devised numerous routines to help me achieve the results.
He kept the training fun and interesting and worked me to my limit and knew exactly when to push just a little bit more. I need that extra "push" every now and again. He was quick to help me discull my dietary needs and what I really needed to do to get the results I was wxpecting. He would let me know if I didn't do the "whole" package, I wouldn't get the results I wanted.
he has the patience of a saint and is always in a good mood and a good frame of mind. I highly recommend him as a trainer for a variety of workout. I especially enjoyed the kickboxing days!
